Observation. The Licensee's system for ensuring that the children's files contain all of the legislative requirements was noted to be ineffective. Licensing found the children's files were missing information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
- C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical
Observation. Systems in place to ensure the outdoor play space is free of hazards appears to be ineffective. Licensing observed many gardening tools including gardener's shears, rakes, and shovels. In addition it was observed that the hot tub was not locked and the pool was not locked, making them accessible to the children. Ensure heated water accessible to children is not more than 49 degrees Celsius. At the time of the inspection Licensing's test of water temperature produced a result of 52.4 degrees Celsius.

Observation. Observations: Licensee is appropriately trained and experienced to operate a Family Child Care Facility. CRC and First Aid Current Contravention: Licensee self identified that there is a person over the age of 12 living in the residence. This person requires a criminal record check and is not permitted to be on site while children are in attendance unless a CRC is on file. The Licensing Officer will provide a link and code for the CRC to be processed.

Observation. Observations: Log of minor injuries/incidents unexpected events updated regularly, play space inspections recorded appropriately, children's arrival and departure times consistently recorded. Contravention: Children's records require an indication of sex - This was corrected during the inspection on all files. An incident in the incident log met the definition of a reportable incident and requires reporting via the IHA Child Care Incident Report Portal. The Licensing Officer will provide a link to the portal.
- C6.1 - Are acceptable hygiene practices maintained?Non-critical
Observation. The Licensing Officer observed the Licensee changing a diaper in a small room that was not next to a covered container or wash basin. - This item is considered resolved as the Licensee stated the diapering will be located in the bathroom from this day forward.

Observation. There was a large branch that was in the raised play area with a sharp point. In the entrance/cubby area the panel below the washing machine is detached exposing wiring and mechanisms under the machine. This is accessible to children. The entrance gate is warped and damaged

Observation. C7.2E - Regulation 16(4)(a-b) The outdoor play space was observed today with a broken ceramic planter that posed sharp edges that could cause injury to a child.

Observation. C2.1G - Regulation 56(1)(d) The child care Standards of Practice require an active play/screen time policy be developed and implemented. Resources have been provided with this inspection report. C2.1M - Regulation 56(1)(2)The facility emergency evacuation plan refers to evacuation supplies however the bag used for outings/emergencies was observed today with no food or water to meet the potential needs of the children. During the inspection water and snacks were added to the bag. This item was RESOLVED during the inspection.
- C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical
Observation. C7.1J - Regulation 15(3) There is one child in the program that naps and the location is in the activity where play activities and screen time (TV) is occurring. Children under 36 months of age are required to have a separate sleeping area away from the activity area. C7.1L - Regulation 17 Multiple cleaning and laundry products were observed accessible to the children today. This item was RESOLVED during the inspection.
