Observation. The hot water was observed to be above the allowable limit of 49 degrees Celsius. Hot water must not exceed 49 degrees Celsius in order to reduce risk of a scalding injury. The hot water tank was adjusted to lower the temperature during the inspection.

Observation. During the inspection it was noted in two rooms that the cupboard under the bathroom sink was unlocked and items inside accessible, including cleaners labelled "Keep out of reach of children". These cupboards were locked during the inspection, and the contravention was resolved. No further action required.

Observation. It was alleged that a parent did not know which facility their child was receiving care at. Upon review of the policies and procedures, and discussion with the Licensee Contact, it was determined that the parent did not have reasonable access to their child. The facility must ensure parents have reasonable access to their child and are notified of changes in care provision.

Observation. It was alleged that a parent did not know which facility their child was receiving care at. Upon review of the policy and discussion with the Licensee Contact it was noted that families have not previously received written notification when children are going to be changing from one site to another for care.

Observation. Upon review of a sampling of employee records it was noted that one record has a Criminal Record Check that is addressed to a school, Criminal Record Checks are not transferable, and a new Criminal Record Check, or a shared one from the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services is required. All other employee records were complete and demonstrated that employees possess sufficient training and experience to meet the care and supervision needs of children.

Observation. Upon review of a sampling of child records it was noted that several did not have doctor's name or number. If a family does not have a doctor, then the emergency room, clinic or online health portal they use must be documented. Reviewed fire drill and emergency preparedness plan practice records, all complete. Minor incidents and outdoor inspection and maintenance records stored in an online program, all appeared complete, no concerns noted.
