  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

Observation. Upon review of a sampling of employee records, it was noted that two required immunization status statements regarding BC Immunization Schedule, including COVID-19 vaccination status. All other necessary records were present and up-to-date. Immunization status of employees is required to be on file so that it easy to identify who may not be able to work if there is an outbreak in the facility. Notify Licensing of the addition of this information in the employee records on or by December 12, 2025. It was noted, after documentation review and discussion with the Manager, that the Emergency Preparedness Plan Practice has not yet been conducted for 2025. This is overdue, as the last practice was June of 2024 and must be practiced at least once every 12 months or less. Emergency Preparedness Plans must be practiced annually in order to ensure that employees and children are familiar with the plan, and to allow opportunity to test and review the plan to ensure effectiveness. Notify Licensing of completion of this practice on or by December 12, 2025.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

Observation. Upon review of a sampling of child records, it was noted that one required a care card number, all other required information appeared to be complete. Care card numbers are required in order to provide them to emergency services during a medical emergency, if necessary. Notify Licensing on or by December 12, 2025 that child records have been reviewed and all required information is included. Care plans appeared to be complete, upon discussion with the Manager it was determined that annual Care Plan reviews have not been completed and documented as required. Care plans must be reviewed and documented annually in order to ensure that the plans are accurate and reflect the most up-to-date information to provide employees guidance and protect the health, safety and wellbeing of the children in care. Notify Licensing on or by December 12, 2025 that care plans have been reviewed and updated as necessary, and that these updates/reviews have been documented. The Minor Incident Log, Outdoor Inspection Log and Fire Drill Practice record were also reviewed, and determined to be complete and up-to-date.
