- C9.1 - Are there plans and actions in place to ensure medications are stored and administered properly?Non-critical
Observation. A child who may require the use of an epi-pen did not have a completed medication record by the parent indicating permission to administer, the conditions under which the medication should be administered, who will administer and the amount to be administered. To ensure the health and safety of a child requiring medication parents must provide permission and information regarding the use of the medication to the licensee. Submit by August 8, 2025, evidence that medication records are complete.
- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical
Observation. Children's records were reviewed and found to be incomplete. Missing from all records is reference to identify any person who is not permitted access to the child. Several records were missing the name and telephone number of a medical practitioner and emergency contact information. Current information is required to ensure children's safety in the event of an emergency. Submit by August 13, 2025, evidence that files missing the required information are updated and contain the required documentation. Three children's records are missing other information, such as physical characteristics, which can be used to readily identify a child in an emergency. Submit by August 13, 2025, evidence that the information has been added to the records. A child who has a prescription for an epi-pen requires a care plan to be developed to address this use. Care plans ensure that children requiring extra support receive safe and supportive care as well as supporting employees to know how to respond to any symptoms of identified conditions. Submit by August 13, 2025, the developed care plan with evidence the parent has been included as part of the development of the plan.

Submit by August 08, 2025, evidence that this issue has been addressed. A spray bottle containing a bleach-water solution was accessible to children. A bleach-water solution is a hazardous substance which poses a risk to children's health and safety.
