Observation. A random sampling of children's records were inspected. One record was missing the name and phone number of a medical practitioner. This may present a risk to the child in the case of a medical emergency. A licensee must keep records of all required information. Provide evidence to Licensing by July 4, 2025 that children's records are complete.

Observation. Oven cleaner was being stored in an unlocked cupboard that is accessible to children. This poses a risk to their health and safety. Children must not have access to a substance that may be hazardous to their health or safety. This contravention was corrected during the inspection. One platform on the outdoor climbing structure is higher than 5 feet, making it unsafe for children who have not entered grade one. Equipment for preschool aged children must be no more than 5 feet high. A plan for ensuring that preschool-aged children will not access that part of the climbing structure is required. Submit a plan for ensuring that preschool-aged children will not access any area of the climbing structure that is higher than 5 feet, by July 4, 2025.

Observation. The manager's name had been removed when a certificate was recently replaced. Upon reminder during the inspection, the manager's name was re-displayed.

Observation. Children's names are being checked off upon arrival, however specific times of arrival for each child are required to be noted on the attendance sheet.

Observation. A system is required for ensuring children's records are complete. Several children's files were found to be missing required information, including personal health number, doctor phone number, and emergency contact phone number.

Observation. Accessible storage cupboards that are designated for use by another group, were found to contain cleaning products and spray cans of toxic substances that specify "Keep out of reach of children" on them. Water temperature in one sink in the girls' bathroom exceeded 49 C.

Observation. A child's file was found to be missing the phone number of the emergency contact person.

Observation. LO observed that monthly fire drills are recorded appropriately on the attendance sheet. Emergency Response Plan must be practiced and recorded annually. Items that would be required for evacuation in an emergency must be available. Written behaviour guidance policies exist, however, the manager was unable to articulate the content of the policies when questioned by the LO.
