- C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical
Observation. Two large knives are on the kitchen counter within reach of the children. Sharp objects are considered hazardous and need to be kept out of reach of children at all times to reduce the risk of injury for children in care. A response is required by June 29, 2026 to confirm the risk has been mitigated.
- C6.1 - Are acceptable hygiene practices maintained?Non-critical
Observation. A toilet used for potty training was observed on the deck in the backyard. It was disclosed by the Licensee that the potty is used for children who need a toilet while playing outside in the outdoor play space. A potty does not meet the definition of a toilet. Children require access to a toilet to ensure proper health and hygiene practices are maintained along with the dignity and privacy of the child. A response is required by June 30, 2026 to outline how the risk has been mitigated. Children are drying their hands on one single towel hanging in the washroom. Single use paper towel is available for the children to use however it does not appear the children are using the paper towels to dry their hands. Sharing one towel to dry hands increases the risk of the spread of illness and infection between the children in care. A response is required by June 30, 2026 to outline how the risk has been mitigated.
