It is the responsibility of the Licensee to ensure children's files are complete to ensure the health and safety of the child in care. A response is required by December 17, 2025 to confirm children's files are complete.

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

    Observation. Four out of five employee files reviewed are incomplete and do not contain character references in respect to the person. The Licensee confirmed reference checks were obtained, however were not documented. It is the responsibility of the Licensee to ensure a person is not employed until the manager has obtained the required records to ensure the health and safety of children in care. A response is required by December 17, 2025 to confirm all employee files are complete.

    Observation. A child who requires extra support does not have a formal care plan in place. A child who has a medical condition with special medication instructions does not have a formal care plan to support the instructions as provided by the parent. Care plans are required for any child who requires extra support for behavior or medical needs. Outline the system developed to ensure care plans are developed as required. Confirm when the care plans have been completed. A care plan is in place for a child who requires an epi-pen that has not been reviewed in the past year. Care plans are required to be reviewed at minimum once per year with the parent and if requested any other third party. Outline the system developed to ensure care plans are reviewed as required.

    Observation. Two fire extinguishers are overdue for their annual inspection. The outdoor play space inspection log has no detail as to what is being inspected.
