  Observation. Hightouch surfaces (switch, door casing, tap) in the bathroom are dirty.

• PROGRAM

  A licensee, other than a licensee providing a care program described as Occasional Child Care, must provide each child with daily outdoor play periods unless weather conditions would make it unreasonable to do so. (4) Despite subsection (1), a licensee who provides a care program described as Occasional Child Care need not provide a program of outdoor activities. (5) Despite subsection (3), that subsection applies to a licensee who provides a care program described as Child-minding only if the program provides care for 3.5 hours or more each day.

  Observation. DLSOP- Active Play- The child care program did not ensure a minimum of 60 minutes per day of outdoor active play.

  Corrective action. Ensure there is a minimum of 60 minutes per day of outdoor active play.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 4 reviewed, 1 did not contain contact information for a medical practioner.

  Corrective action. Ensure a record show the name and telephone number of a medical practioner is on file.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Licensing noted on several days there is no indication on the sign in/out sheet whether a child was absent or present.

  Corrective action. Ensure there is a record indicating whether the child is absent, present and the time of arrival and departure.

  Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (b) character references in respect of the person.

  Observation. Licensing noticed a minimum of two character references were not obtained for a volunteer.

  Corrective action. Ensure character references in respect of the volunteer is on file.

  Corrective action. Ensure there is evidence that the volunteer has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

  Observation. Licensing noted 2 individuals who are ordinarily present have not obtained a current and valid criminal record check.

  Corrective action. Ensure persons over the age of 12 who are ordinarily present have obtained a current and valid criminal record check.
