    Observation. Licensing observed the pathway from the driveway to the front door of the facility has become very slippery. There is also a small sloped area where the Manager said has become a slipping hazard for the children.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Fire Extinguisher has not been serviced annually - Expired food and water in the emergency supplies. This is noted as a repeat contravention. - Insufficient emergency supplies. This is noted as a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. Ensure there is a system to implement your emergency plan.

    Observation. 2 children's files were not available for review, therefore Licensing could not determine if ages and numbers were in compliance. The staff said she was notified the children were enrolled but had not attended. Licensing noted in the attendance record, these 2 children attended the facility in the last 2 months. The Manager informed Licensing via email these files were locked away as they contained missing information.

    Corrective action. Ensure all records are available for review upon request.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. LO observed and discussed the following with the Manager: Outdoor Play Area: -Fence and posts getting weak and need appropriate maintenance to address damages and wood rot of the fence; one gap larger than 9 cm on the fence poses entrapment hazard. - Wooden planks of various sizes with many nails sticking out are stored by the fence area within the outdoor area and accessible to children. The manager stated that these materials are for building children's outdoor equipment. LO discussed about making these items to be stored out of children's reach. - The door leading to the house was unlocked accessible to the children.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed 2 wall heaters that were set to a temperature of 20 degrees celcius. Licensing touched one of the heaters and the metal was extremely hot. While the Manager tried to cover one heater with a child size chair and another with a shelf, children still have access to them and the heater could potentially cause a burn. This was discussed with the Manager during the Licensing process.

    Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.
