A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. A large commercial size roll of toilet paper stored on the bathroom counter. This is unhygienic as children would be touching the entire roll of toilet paper when using the bathroom.

Corrective action. Ensure toilet paper is stored on the toilet paper holder.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Lysol spray, toilet bowl cleaner and bleach and water solution stored in an unlocked cupboard in the bathroom. The Manager locked the cupboard.

Corrective action. Ensure hazardous substances are inaccessible to the children.

A licensee must keep (a) a copy of the written statement, referred to in section 19 of the Act, that the licensee delivers to persons who prepay part of the cost of services

Observation. A selection of childrens files were reviewed. Out of the 6 files, all files did not contain a copy of the written agreement between both parties.

Corrective action. Submit a corrective action plan.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. There is no record when children are absent.

Corrective action. Submit a corrective action plan.
