    Observation. There is no record of a fire drill being completed for July and August. The Manager said the facility was closed for approx 3 weeks in August.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. LO observed and discussed the following with the Manager, re: outdoor play area - Gaps under the wooden fence should be smaller than 9 cm or larger than 23 cm to prevent potential entrapment. - Lanscape wood: wood rot, exposed nails accessible to the children. The wood edging is not safe for children to step on as it could cause a child to trip and fall.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

    Observation. A child's care plan was not reviewed/ updated with the parents.

    Corrective action. Ensure that care plan is updated yearly with families. LO discussed some strategies/ideas how the Manager can facilitate this process.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 7 children were present. Only 6 were signed in.

    Corrective action. Ensure that accurate children's attendance records are kept ( time of arrival, departure and absence).

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection licensing observed that sleeping mats were covered with sheets and blankets and separated by a vinyl strip. The mats were stores one on top of the other and the ends of the sheets were touching causing cross contamination.

    Corrective action. Please ensure you provide a healthy and safe environment at all times.
