• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The lower cupboard containing the cleaning supplies was unlocked and accessible to the children

  Corrective action. The Manager locked the cupbaord

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. - Licensing observed there to be 3 children's files missing a medical practitioner name and 4 files to be missing a medical practitioner contact number.

  Corrective action. The Manager will go through the children's files with the families to make sure they are filled out correctly.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the first aid certificates had recently expired

  Corrective action. The Manager said they will renew their first aid certifcated as soon as possible

  Observation. fire drill not recorded for November, staff stated they did complete the drill

  Corrective action. please ensure drills are recorded each month

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. The manager stated that a fire drill had taken place in October 2022 although the drill had not been recorded.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all fire drills are recorded.

  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. A care plan for one child had not been reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that all care plans are reviewed at least once every 12 months.
