    A licensee must ensure that a child's medication is not accessible to any child, except that a child may have access to his or her own medication if (a) the child's parent has instructed the licensee to permit this.

    Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed medication was accessible to children in care. The Staff explained that the child that required medication no longer attends the facility. During the inspection, The Staff moved the medication to be inaccessible to children.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that medication is not accessible to any child, unless the child's parent has instructed the licensee to permit this.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed bleach, knives and adult scissors accessible to children. The Manager explained bleach is used frequently by staff for sanitizing. The staff explained that the knives are used to prepare snack and the children do not go in that area of the classroom.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
