- POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Licensing observed there was no written documentation of the emergency evacuation drill. The Licensee said it is practiced monthly just not recorded.
Corrective action. The Licensee said she will record it with the fire drill records

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Upon inspection of the outdoor play area enclosure it was observed to have two portions of the wire fence that appear to be lower and accessible to the height of children. In one corner portion there is a stump infront of the lowest part of the fence. Behind the fence is a steep decline where hazards were observed. Licensing had a discussion about continuous maintenance of the fence. Licensing took pictures and will provide the Manager copies of the images.
Corrective action. Please ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Upon inspection, the water accessible to the children was 60.2 Celsius.This is a repeat contravention.
Corrective action. Please ensure heated water is no more than 49 degrees Celsius.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.
Observation. Upon inspection of the outdoor play area enclosure, a portion of the back fence was bending lower and there was a steep decline down where hazards were observed to be.The Licensee said that 2 months is sufficient time to get the fence fixed.
Corrective action. Please ensure the outdoor area is enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of the children.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Upon review of 6 children's files, 1 file did not have a name and telephone number of the medical practitioner.This is a repeat contravention.

Observation. Upon inspection, the safety lock on the bathroom vanity was not secured and there was cleaner stored in it. Manager identified that the children can open the lock and she is going to remove the cleaner until she can find a suitable solution for a lock.
Corrective action. Please ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

Observation. Upon inspection, the fire extinguisher has not been serviced since 2019.
Corrective action. Please ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced annually.
