• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Cleaning wipes expired in 2022. Although the manger said the wipes are not used they are accessible to staff and may be accidentally used.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all cleaning products have a current expiry date.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. The time in/out records do not indicate which room the children are in (gym or portable).

  Corrective action. The manager will ensure that an accurate record of where children are being cared for is kept.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. Care plans for three children appear not to have been reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

  Corrective action. The manager said she will follow up on this and make sure all care plans are reviewed on an annual basis.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must display a copy of the fire drill system in a prominent place in the community care facility. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed a posted floor plan but it does not indicate an emergency escape route. Licensing had a discussion about what information needs to be included in the plan.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a copy of the fire drill system is displayed in a prominent place in the community care facility.
