A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed parts of the diaper mat to be torn, making cleaning and sanitizing difficult

Corrective action. Please ensure the diaper mat is free from tears to allow for proper cleaning and sanitizing

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed the fire extinguisher to be overdue for servicing

Corrective action. Ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced yearly

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed one staff's file to have a recently expired criminal record check

Corrective action. The staff said the manager was aware and is in the process of reapplying for the criminal record check
