Observation. One child who required an epi-pen did not have a non-expired one available.

Corrective action. The manager will ensure that any child who requires an epi-pen has one non-expired one available.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. The emergency drill is not being practiced or recorded annually

Corrective action. The manager will ensure the emergency drill is practiced and recorded

The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. Care plan not developed in consultation with the parent or any person requested by the parent.

Corrective action. The Manager said she will develop a care plan with the parent.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. Upon inspecting the emergency supplies, the water bottles had expired.

Corrective action. Please ensure water is replaced and sufficient for 72 hours.

A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.

Observation. Upon review of the children's files, one file did not have consent to call a medical practitioner.

Corrective action. Please ensure the children's files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Upon review of the children's files, one did not contain a medical insurance number.

Corrective action. Please ensure children's files are complete.

A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).

Observation. Upon review of the children's files, staff said that one child that attended did not have a registration package.

Corrective action. Please ensure all children have registration information as per legislative requirements.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one or more employees.

Corrective action. Please ensure staff files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. Upon review of the children's records, 2 files did not contain start dates.

Corrective action. Please ensure children's records are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Upon review of the attendance records, 3 children did not have departure times recorded.

Corrective action. Please ensure children's arrival and departure times are recorded.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

Observation. Upon inspection, there was bleach and Lysol accessible to the children in care.

Corrective action. Please ensure that the children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health and safety of a child.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Upon review of the children's files, 1 files did not have a medical practitioner name or contact number recorded.

Corrective action. Please ensure the children's files are complete.

The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. The care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

Corrective action. Please ensure review date is recorded on the care plan.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. Upon review of 4 childrens files, 1 file did not have a start date recorded.

Corrective action. Please ensure the children's files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

Observation. A care plan does not include the course of action recommended by health care professionals for a child requiring additional support.

Corrective action. Please ensure the care plans include the course of action specific to the child requiring additional support.
