- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Indoors: - Sleep mats have rips preventing them from being sanitized properly Outdoors: - Removed Fencing and construction supplies are being stored in the outdoor play area.
Corrective action. The manager will fix/replace the sleep mats and remove the hazardous materials from the outdoor play space
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. Single use towels are not being used. Each child uses their own hand towel for the day to dry hands in the bathroom.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure that children only use a towel one time to dry their hands
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - LICENSING
Licensees must not make any structural change to a community care facility unless the licensee first (a) submits plans for the change to a medical health officer.
Observation. Licensing observed that the facility is changing the outdoor play area. The fence separating the forest and the backyard has been removed. The type of surfacing has also changed from grass to cement.
Corrective action. The Manager will inform licensing of any structural changes to plans and receive approval prior to making changes.

Observation. Fire exntiguisher had not been serviced for over a year No food and limited expired water in the emergency supplies
Corrective action. The manager will ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced and adequate food and water is in the emergency supplies

- POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. The emergency supplies were reviewed and it was found that it contained juice boxes and two packages of crackers only. Licensing recommended that enough bottled water should be obtained for children for at least 72 hours, as well as different types of food (ex. granola bars, dry cereal, canned goods, etc.) Licensing also explained another option to store these items can be a luggage bag for ease of access.
Corrective action. Please ensure there is a plan to respond to and recover from any emergency.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. A care card number was not obtained for one child.

- POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. The Licensee was only able to produce December 2021 fire drill records. Licensee explained that they are done every month but could not find the previous months. Licensing suggested a system to keep all the fire drill records in one place for easy access.
Corrective action. Please ensure fire drill records are completed monthly.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. There were insufficient supplies of food and water in the emergency kit. The Licensee explained that her enrollment has recently increased and that she forgot to add more supplies to the emergency kit.
Corrective action. Please ensure there are enough emergency supplies to respond to and recover from any emergency.
