    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Unravelled hose in the backyard posing a trip hazard - Plastic pannel on back of house is peeling and dirty and there was a pacifier inside that was accesible to children. - Exposed wood on the back stairs posed a splinter hazard. - Mat on the stairs was peeling off and posed a tripping hazard

    Corrective action. The manager will address the contravention

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Dead leaves covering the playground area and equipment. - Paint is peeling on the wooden steps in backyard. This is a repeat contravention

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following was observed: - A hose in the backyard is unraveled and poses as a tripping hazard. - Electrical outlets were exposed in the nap room.

    Corrective action. The Manager will wrap up the hose and store away from the play area and cover the electrical outlets in the nap room.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. The following was observed: - In the backyard, the grass is in need of mowing and bushes were overgrown. Dead leaves were observed all over the backyard. - There are gaps in the fence, which pose a risk to children as they can leave the playground through these gaps. - The paint is peeling on the wooden steps leading to the backyard.

    Corrective action. The Manager will address the above items.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. During an inspection of the bathroom, the following was observed: - The bathroom cabinet was unlocked, containing cleaners that were accessible to the children. - Bathroom spray and sanitizing wipes were stored on the shelf and is accessible to the children.

    Corrective action. The Manager will remove these items from the bathroom and make them inaccessible to the children.

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. Children are not using single use towels to dry their hands after washing.

    Corrective action. The Manager will obtain paper towels for hand drying.

    Observation. During the course of the inspection, Licensing observed a child climbing on furniture and not being supervised by the Manager. On three separate occasions, the Manager had to be reminded to ensure she is actively supervising all 5 children, regardless of where they are in the facility.

    Corrective action. The Manager will address the contravention.
