Observation. A meat smoker, old bug screens and a quad bike are accessible to children in the backyard.
Corrective action. The manger will ensure these items are made inaccessible to children.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Edges of an area rug are curling and pose a tripping hazard.
Corrective action. The manager will tape the edges of the rug down.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Hot water was measured at 57.2c. The maximum allowable temperature for hot water is 49c.
Corrective action. The manager will supervise the children until the water temperature is lowered.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. There are not enough emergency supplies for all children for 72 hours.
Corrective action. The manger will ensure there are adequate emergency supplies for eight children for up to 72 hours.

Observation. Time in, time out and absences for multiple children on multiple days are not recorded for March 2026.

When advertising or otherwise offering services to the public, a licensee must identify the care program being offered.
Observation. The sign posted at the front of the facility is advertising as a Multi-Age, Pre-School and Before and After School Care program.
Corrective action. The Manager will cover the wording and ensure that only Multi-Age is being advertised, as per the facility license.
10060 - CCLR s.11(3) - OR SUPERVISION
Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. There were 4 children under 36 months and there are no approved temporary placements.
Corrective action. The Manager will send Licensing a temporary placement request for the last child enrolled.
14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. There is insufficient food and water in the emergency supplies kit.
Corrective action. The Manager will provide more food and water and ensure that there are enough supplies for 72 hours.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.
Observation. No care plan was available for a child requiring extra support.
Corrective action. Licensing will send the Manager the Anaphylaxis form to complete and post it in a prominent place in the facility.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation. Evidence of verified references were not available for one staff. Each staff must have at least 2 references checked.
Corrective action. The Manager will obtain 2 references for the staff and will verify the references.

Observation. Two staff did not have a Criminal Record Check from the CRRP. The Manager said that she is in the process of obtaining one staff's current CRC from the sharing program.
Corrective action. The Manager will obtain Criminal Record Checks from CRRP and keep the results in the staff files.

Observation. Fire drill records were not available for inspection. Licensing discussed that fire drills must be practiced and recorded monthly and that the fire drill system must be posted in a prominent place.
Corrective action. Please ensure fire drills are recorded monthly.
