    A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

    Observation. There was no record of last years emergency evacuation plan or the fire drills from May to July. The Licensee advised that she changed the log book and that it must have been misplaced.

    Corrective action. Please keep a record of fire drills and the yearly emergency evacuation plan.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (a) suitable for the age and development of the children.

    Observation. DLSOP Family Child Care – There is not adequate equipment to safely meet the varying developmental needs of the children receiving care. Licensing observed a trampoline in the facility, which is accessible to all children in care. Licensee stated that the infants and toddlers do not play on this equipment.

    Corrective action. Please ensure equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children

  • LICENSING

    A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,

    Observation. 8 children were present in the community care facility at the time of inspection. Of those 8 children, 3 children did not meet the age requirements. Maximum capacity for Family Child Care is 7 children, having no more then 3 children younger than 48 months old and, of those 3, no more than one child younger than 12 months old.

    Corrective action. Ensure that you are operating the community care facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety, and dignity of persons in care according to the Community Care and Assisted Living Act and the Child Care Licensing Regulations

    Observation. During inspection, licensing observed outdoor deck is inaccessible as structural changes are being made to this deck. This deck is also used as a secondary emergency exit.

    Observation. Upon review of child records, 2 children attending the facility did not have records. Licensee stated records were not obtained for these 2 children.

    Observation. During inspection, Licensing observed that the fire extinguisher in the facility was due for service in March 2021

    Corrective action. Please ensure fire extinguisher is serviced annually
