  Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed some exposed gyprock throughout the facility. The Manager explained that there is a plan to paint the walls.

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. Upon inspection, it was found that emergency supplies are insufficient to implement the emergency plan.

  Corrective action. Please ensure emergency supplies are sufficient.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon review of staff files, one educator did not have a certificate that was verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. The Manager explained that the staff certificate was recently renewed. This was corrected during the inspection.

  Corrective action. Please ensure certificates are verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection, Licensing observed Lysol wipes accessible to children.

  Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. The care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent. The Manager explained she was unaware this was required and will follow up with the parents.

  Corrective action. Please ensure care plan is reviewed annually.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. During inspection of the facility washrooms it was found that the toilets had a grey ring in the bowls and one of the toilets had feces on it. The sinks and taps had residue and appeared to not have been washed recently.

  Corrective action. Ensure all fixtures in the washroom are clean.
