    Observation. Upon inspection of the outdoor play area, Licensing observed a bench is peeling and in disrepair. The Manager explained that there is a plan to maintain the outdoor play area over the summer.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed the following: -Fridge temperature measured at 8.9 degrees Celsius. -There are push pins being used to hold papers on the bulletin board which is located at children's level.

    Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided and fridge temperature is maintained between 0 and 4 degrees Celsius.

    Observation. Upon inspection of the outdoor play area, there was a nail sticking out of the baseboard accessible to children. The Manager said they are currently working on updating the outdoor area as the weather is starting to get better.

    Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed the following: -A closed bottle of wine stored in the fridge, accessible to children. The Manager said this is from the time the facility opened and removed it during the inspection. -Matches located in a drawer in the kitchen area which were accessible to children. The Manager said the purpose of use is for birthday cakes. - Adult medication located in a drawer accessible to children. The Manager said there is a designated drawer for each staff to place personal belongings.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children do not have access to any object or substances that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. Upon inspection, it was found that the Manager's name was not posed in a prominent place. The Manager said this was removed as the walls were recently pained. This is a repeat contravention.

    Corrective action. Please ensure the Manager's name is posted in a prominent place in the community care facility.

    Observation. Upon inspection, it was observed that one child requiring medication did not have written directions specified by the parent or care plan regarding the administration of medication.

    Observation. Upon review of 4 staff files, 1 staff did not have a certificate that was verified by the system maintain by the early childhood educator registry. The Manager said this employee recently renewed their Certificate and was unaware the new certificate should be verified.

    Corrective action. Please ensure certificates are verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.
