EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. All bathrooms used by the children had a temperature of 54.1 degrees Celcius.
Corrective action. Hot water should not reach more than 49 degrees Celcius. Please submit a corrective action to plan to licensing

Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. In the GCC (30-sa) program, staff onsite held ECEA certification and did not meet the requirements of Schedule E. The qualified staff leaves at 1.30pm on a daily basis.
Corrective action. Please ensure staffing qualifications reflect the legislative requirements.

Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one or more employees.

STAFFING
A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.
Observation. One staff who works alone at the beginning of the day did not have a first aid certificate on file. One staff said that she thought this staff had her certification.
Corrective action. Please ensure all staff working alone are first aid certified for childen's immediate access.
