• MEDICATION

  If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (b) readily accessible to employees.

  Observation. Medication was not readily accessible to employees as noted in a care plan of a child requiring additional support. This is an immediate risk to the child's health in the case of emergency. Further discussed with the Manager.

  Corrective action. Any medication noted in a child's care plan must be readily available to the staff at all times in order to respond in an emergency situation. Medication forms must be completed in order to administer.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

  Observation. Five children's files were reviewed, and in one of the five files, there was no evidence of the child's immunization status.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files have the immunization status included.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

  Observation. Five children's files were reviewed during this inspection. All five children's files showed no evidence of a start date listed.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files have a record of the date of enrollment into the program.

  Applicants for licences and licensees must notify a medical health officer immediately of any change in the information provided under section 9.

  Observation. Bathroom renovation underway , notification was not provided to Licensing

  Corrective action. ensure Licensing is provided with notification of any changes as put forward within the application for licence. Discussed plan to ensure children have access to washrooms prior to attending the facility.
