Observation. The emergency plan has not been practiced by all employees in the past year. It is the responsibility of the Licensee to ensure all employees practice the emergency plan at least once per year to be prepared in the event of an emergency. A response is required by April 20, 2026 to confirm completed.

Observation. The daily attendance record is not accurate as 13 children are observed in care at the facility and only 10 children are signed in on the form. A daily record is required for each child indicating if a child is absent or present, the time of arrival and departure for the health and safety of the child while in care. A response is required by April 20, 2026 to outline how the risk has been mitigated. Daily play space inspections were disclosed to be occurring however are not being documented. It is the responsibility of the Licensee to keep a log of all play space inspections, maintenance and repairs for the health and safety of children in care. A response is required by April 20, 2026 to outline how documentation will be kept as required.

Observation. The Child Care Regulation requires a person must not be employed until the manager has obtained the required records. One employee file is incomplete and missing records: work history, character references and evidence of ECEA certificate validation through the ECE Registry. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on April 22, 2024. A response is required by April 10, 2025 to confirm all employee files are complete and the system developed to ensure employee files are complete.

Observation. Licensing observed one large slide and one small slide set up beside each other for the children to use in the lower level of the facility. The slides do not each have a six foot clearance around the perimeter as required. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on April 22, 2024. A six foot clearance is considered safest for any climbing structure to prevent the risk of injury in children. A response is required by April 10, 2025 with details on how this risk has been addressed and the system developed to ensure adequate clearances are in place for equipment as required. Licensing observed the two slides in the lower level of the facility set up directly on the basement floor without protective surfacing under each of them. Protective surfacing is recommended for equipment that is over 18 inches to prevent the risk of injury in children. A response is required by April 10, 2025 with details on how this risk has been addressed and the system developed to ensure protective surfacing is in place for equipment as required.

Observation. Staff files are incomplete. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on April 22, 2024. Two files are missing evidence of character references. Two files are missing evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization control program. Two files are missing evidence of ECE certification validation from the ECE Registry. A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the required records have been obtained. Outline the system developed to ensure employee files are complete. The employee who was working alone with the children at the time of inspection does not hold a valid first aid certificate that meets the requirements of Schedule C of the Child Care Regulation. A licensee must ensure that children have at all times access to an employee who holds a valid first aid certificate that meets regulation requirements. Outline the system developed to ensure children have access at all times to an employee with a valid first aid certificate as required.

Observation. It was observed that the children's bedding is being stored in a manner where sheets are touching one another. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on April 22, 2024. A system is in place to store children's blankets however not the sheets the children are using daily. In order to ensure the health, safety and hygiene of children bedding must be stored in a manner that will avoid cross contamination. Outline how the system developed will be monitored daily to ensure bedding is stored accordingly. The climber in the outdoor play area does not have a 6 foot clearance around the perimeter. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on April 22, 2024. The outdoor play space does not appear to have adequate room to accommodate for the required clearance. A 6 foot clearance is required for climbing structures to reduce the risk of injury for children. Outline the system developed to ensure the required clearance is in place for the climbing structure. The resilient surfacing surrounding the climbing structure does not meet the required depth. In some areas the ground is exposed and the gravel has been moved away. Adequate resilient surfacing is required to prevent injury for children who are climbing on equipment. Outline the system developed to ensure adequate resilient surfacing is in place and monitored to meet requirements.

Observation. Cots used for rest time are being stored in a manner where the children's blankets are in contact with each other. Bedding needs to be stored in a manner that does not allow for blankets to be in contact with each other. Outline the system developed to ensure children's blankets are kept individually. A cleaning agent in a spray bottle is being kept within reach of the children. Hazardous substances need to be stored in a manner that is inaccessible to the children. CDI- Corrected During Inspection The climber in the outdoor playspace does not have 6 foot clearance around the perimeter. A six foot clearance around any climbing structure is required to ensure appropriate fall zones are clear for the health and safety of children. Outline the system developed to ensure climbing structures are positioned with the required clearance.

Observation. Through a review of a sampling of children's files one file is missing the name and number for a medical practitioner and one file is missing the medical insurance plan number. All required records are to be complete prior to a child commencing care in a facility. Outline the system developed to ensure all children's files are complete.

Observation. Two employee files are missing criminal record checks as required from the Criminal Records Review Act. Employee's need to be screened as required to ensure they are suitable to work with children. Outline the system developed to ensure employee files are complete with required information. Employee files are incomplete: -Two files are missing evidence of reference checks. -One file is missing a record of the person's work history. -Two files are missing evidence the person has complied with the Province's immunization and TB control programs. -Two files are missing evidence of ECE certificate validation. -Three files are missing evidence of valid first aid training. Observation. The safety plan was submitted to the FLO who will review it with an EHO for approval. One the EHO has approved the plan the contravention will be corrected. Safe drinking water has been provided to the children via bottled water

Observation. A review of Fire Drill records indicated that February's fire drill was missed. Licensee confirmed that the drill occurred, however was not recorded. A review of the parent handbook indicated that the facility's Screen Time Policy was missing. This policy needs to be shared with parents.

Observation. Observations: FLO observed a variety of materials and supplies appropriate for the age and development of children. HOt water measured below 49° C and thermometer in fridge showed a temperature below 4°C to ensure safe storage of foods. The lower small roof against the stair enclosure has a gutter that is coming away and is bent. Snow was hampering the the emergency exit today
