  Observation. A care plan for one child was not reviewed annually.

  Corrective action. The manager will ensure the care plan is reviewed annually.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (c) a record of the person's work history. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A resume was not available for one staff.

  Corrective action. A copy of the resume was obtained during this inspection.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. There are not adequate emergency supples for 72 for all children.

  Corrective action. The manager will ensure there are emergency supplies for all children for up to 72 hours.

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (c) the resources to be made available to the child requiring extra support by the licensee, including (i) any adaptation of the community care facility necessary to ensure the child's safety or comfort.

  Observation. Medication required in a child’s care plan has expired.

  Corrective action. The manager will ensure medication with a current expiry date is available.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.

  Observation. There are areas underneath the climber that have no pea gravel covering the ground. Pea gravel needs to be a minimum of 6" deep under all areas of the climber.

  Corrective action. The manager will submit a plan to Licensing outlining how this issue will be addressed.

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. The facility fire extinguishers have not been serviced within the past 12 months.

  Corrective action. The manger will ensure the fire extinguishes are serviced a minimum of once every 12 months.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

  Observation. There are areas of rotting wood on the roof edges of the outdoor playhouse.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all areas of the playhouse roof are in good repair.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. The following were observed during this inspections: -Chair legs are loose on multiple children's chairs. -Rust is present on taps in the children's bathrooms.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that all equipment and fixtures are in good repair.

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

  Observation. Although permission to administer medication was available, there was no care plan for a child requiring extra support.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a current care plan is available for all children who require extra support.
