    Observation. The fridge in the I/T program was measured at 12c. The fridge temperature needs to be between 0-4c.

    Corrective action. The Licensee Contact stated they may purchase a larger fridge for the program or staff will use a different fridge to store children's food.

    Observation. Foam is exposed on nap mats and the following were observed in the Group Child Care (30 months to school age) program bathroom:, caulking is peeling away from the wall on a sink, there are areas of rust in a cupboard under the sink, a floor mop is stored with the wet mop head on the floor and is not able to dry thoroughly and the area behind the bathroom door needs to be cleaned.

    Corrective action. The Licensee Contact will ensure all areas of the bathroom are clean and that foam is covered on the nap mat.

    Observation. In the Group Child Care (30 months to school age), Licensing observed children eating and drinking while they were walking around the play room. One child was eating candy while walking around the room.

    Corrective action. The Licensee Contact stated she will make sure staff do not let children walk around while eating or drinking and that candy will be removed from children's lunch boxes.

    Observation. During this inspection the following were observed: a strip of transition wood between carpet and laminate flooring in the 3-5 program was missing, peeling paint in the 3-5 bathroom, the bathroom floor and walls in the 3-5 room are in need of cleaning, walls in the hallway by the 3-5 bathroom are in need of cleaning

    Corrective action. Please ensure the facility is clean and in good repair at all time.

    Observation. The following were observed during this inspection: cloths used to dry hands were stored in a manner that they were touching each other in the infant/toddler bathroom, perishable food in children's lunches was not being stored in the fridge, a fridge in the infant/toddler program was 12.5c, staff in the 3-5 program are not using the 3 sink method to wash dishes.

    Corrective action. Please ensure cloths for drying hands are stored so they do not touch each other, fridge temperatures are between 0-4c, perishable food is stored in the fridge and that the 3 sink method is used to wash dishes if no dishwasher is available.

    Observation. The temperature of three fridges was measured. All fridges had temperatures of above 4c. Fluorescent light bulbs were exposed above the loft in the Group Child Care (under 36 months) program. This poses a risk to children if the light bulb shatters.

    Corrective action. Please ensure the temperature of fridges is between 0-4c and that fluorescent light bulbs are not exposed.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): On review of time in/out records, Licensing determined that the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) and the Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) are mixed for up to 45 minutes at the beginning of the day.

    Corrective action. Please ensure groups are not mixed for more than 30 minutes. To address this contravention the Licensee Contacted stated a staff person will start their shift fifteen minutes earlier.
