Observation. Netting on a mini trampoline needs to be repaired or replaced. This was noted on Routine Inspection #WBET-CZTP9D.

Corrective action. The manager will either repair the netting or remove the trampoline.

Observation. Netting on a mini trampoline has a ripped section.

Corrective action. Please ensure all areas of the mini trampoline are in good repair.

Observation. Licensing observed the following in the outside environment; - Child-sized basket ball hoop not filled or anchored, this is a falling hazard. - Garden hose hanging from the fence - This was corrected during the inspection - Artificial turf pealing up, this is a tripping hazard

Observation. The manager could not produce the facility's nutrition policy.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (f) a log of minor accidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children, that did not require medical attention and were not reportable incidents described in Schedule H.

Observation. The manager was able to produce last years minior incident log. However, could not produce this years log. The staff stated that it has not been updated since last year.

Corrective action. Please ensure there are a current record of minor incidents, illnesses and unexpected events involving children that did not require medical attention.

A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

Observation. Licensing observed a care plan not created for a child requiring extra support. Education was provided on the information required on a care plan and licensing will email resources to the manager.

Corrective action. Please ensure care plans are created for each child requiring extra support

The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. Licensing observed a care plan that has not been reviewed annually.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

Observation. Upon inspection, a room designated for children's use is being used to store materials such as a vacuum, refrigerator, crib, couch and boxes. There are some play materials for children but there is not enough space for children to move freely. The couch also has rips, exposing the material under. At the inspection, the licensee stated they are waiting to do some spring cleaning and will provide licensing with a plan to make this room available for children's use.

Corrective action. Please ensure the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.

Observation. Upon inspection of the outdoor play yard, there were chairs lined along the fence that posed a hazard should a child climb over the fence.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. Upon inspection, licensee was unable to produce a policy and procedure that directs staff in the event of an emergency occurring off site of the premise. The facility also did not have a reportable incident or transportation policy developed.

Corrective action. Please ensure a written policy and procedure is developed to guide staff in the care and supervision of children in the event of an emergency off site.

The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. The care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

Corrective action. Please ensure a care plan is reviewed at least once each year with a parent of a child requiring extra support.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one or more employees.

Corrective action. Please ensure that immunization status is obtained for all employees.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (c) a record of the person's work history.
