Observation. Water temp was recorded 54 degrees celsius in the childrens washroom.
Corrective action. Manager said she will be contacting a plumber to adjust the temp.

Observation. 7 staff files reviewed of which 1 had an expired CRC.
Corrective action. Manager applied for an up to date CRC during the inspection.

A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.
Observation. Reviewed fire drill log and noted there were no drills recorded for the following months: Nov. 2025, Dec. 2025, Jan. 2026
Corrective action. Manager said they complete the drills monthly and she forgot to record them. She will ensure she records them as they are practised moving forward.

Observation. 5 childrens files were reviewed of which 1 child was missing the contact name and phone number for an emergency contact
Corrective action. Please ensure all children's files are complete and up to date.

Observation. 5 staff files were reviewed of which one staff had a criminal record check that is not site specific.
Corrective action. Please ensure a Criminal Record Check is obtained for all employees that is site specific. Until a Criminal record check is obtained that is site specific for said employee, they are not to be left alone with the children or support during toileting.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A makeshift handwashing station has been set up outside for chlidren to use before snack/lunch outside: - the water jug was filled by the garden hose - a bucket of warm soapy water was adjacent to the jug - a communal cloth towel was used by children
Corrective action. As per the BC Centre for Disease Control & the BC Ministry of Health's "Coronavirus COVID-19 Hand Hygiene" ( http://www.bccdc.ca/Health-Professionals-Site/Documents/COVID19_Handwashing%20Poster_MD%20offices.pdf ): - water/soap or alcohol-based hand sanitizer will clean hands; however, water/soap must be used for visibly soiled hands - handwashing must occur w/ warm water - liquid or foam soap must be used - lathering must occur for 20-30 seconds before rinsing - paper towel must be used to dry hands If the above steps can't be achieved using the makeshift handwashing station: - children must wash their hands inside the facility, or - supervised use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer (≥ 60% alcohol) must occur

Observation. An employee stated that the facility practiced implementing the emergency plan in Oct/2019, but there was no documented evidence of this.
Corrective action. Once the facility has practiced implementing the emergency plan, they must document it.

Corrective action. All requirements of s. 19 must be obtained by employee's 1st day of employment.
