    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. During inspection, Licensing observed the following: - Staff did not wash hands after each diaper change - Children were not encouraged to wash hands after diaper change - Sanitizing solution not available in the bathroom

    Corrective action. Manager explained that she will talk to the staff about the procedure of diaper change, and to encourage children to wash hand after diaper change. Manager also states that she will prepare a second sanitizing solution bottle in the bathroom.

    Observation. During the inspection, Licensing observed that there were insufficient supplies to respond or recover from emergency

    Corrective action. Manager explained that she will obtained emergency supplies from all families, and she will add more supplies as well.

    Observation. Gloves are not being changed in between all diaper changes, and gloves are used during handwashing procedures.

    Corrective action. The Manager will ensure that proper use of disposable gloves is being practiced.

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed that children's hands were not washed before eating snack. The Manager explained that children are provided with a wet cloth and wash their hands after playing outside.

    Corrective action. The Manager explained that children's hands will be washed, prior to meal times.

    Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing found that there is not sufficient food and water for 72 hours to respond and recover from any emergency.

    Corrective action. The Manager explained that moving forward she will provide items for the emergency kits.

    Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing found that a child with an indicated allergy on their registration form, did not have a care plan that includes the course of action recommended by health care professionals. The Manager was able to verbally explain how to respond.

    Corrective action. The Manager explained that she will follow up with the child's parent and develop and care plan.

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. During the inspection the licensing officer observed children getting up from naptime and sitting down at the snack table. Licensing officer did not observe the children washing their hands before eating snack. Manager stated that they use one time wet wipes to clean the children's hands. Manager stated that children have their hands washed when they return from outside and after they have their diapers changed.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children practice the rules of health and hygiene by using soap and water and individual hand towels for drying hands.

    Observation. During the inspection, seven (7) children's files were reviewed and two (2) children's files were missing the name and phone number of an emergency contact person.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all children's files are complete.

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

    Observation. During the inspection of the daily attendance records, it was noted that on several days during the month of June the children were not signed out. Manager stated that the staff sign the children in and out and that at the end of the day sometimes she forgets to sign them out. This is a repeat contravention and it was noted on Inspection #SSAU-C4BSHV from June 25, 2021.

    Corrective action. Please ensure an accurate record of the children's attendance is kept on a daily basis.

    The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.

    Observation. During the inspection it was noted that a person ordinarily present at the facility had an expired CRC (Expiration date April 03, 2022).

    Corrective action. Please ensure that all persons ordinarily present at the facility have a current and valid CRC.
