Observation. Bleach and Febreeze are placed on a low shelf in the bathroom making them accessible to children
Corrective action. Licensee will work with the staff and place the febreeze and bleach on a high shelf out of the reach of children
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. a. Diaper Change mat in the bathroom is torn with the internal foam exposed . b. Closet in the hallway was left partially open with direct access to staff personal belongings and bags
Corrective action. Licensee said the following: a. They will change the diaper change mat b. Will speak with the staff to ensure they remember to close the closet door and keep it closed all day

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Fire extrinugisher is not serviced annually with the last service having been completed in 2024.
Corrective action. Licensee will get the fire extringuisher serviced

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. A Febreze spray was stored on the bathroom counter and was accessible to children.
Corrective action. The Manager will store the Febreze spray in an inaccessible place.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The following was observed: - Some electrical outlets in the nap room were uncovered and poses as a hazard to children. - Dog feces were observed in the backyard. Although this was not in the children's outdoor play area, it is important to keep all areas of the backyard safe and clean.
Corrective action. The Manager will address the contravention.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. The following was observed: - The baby gate to the outdoor play area is rusting and this is a potential hazard to children. - The backyard fence is leaning and does not appear to be sturdy. - Some wooden parts of the fence are broken and in need of replacement. - In one area of the fence where it is leaning, some nails are exposed at the bottom of the fence.
Corrective action. The Manager will address the identified areas that are in need of repair/replacement.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. The 2024 fire drill records was reviewed and it was found that the fire drill was not recorded for February until December 2024.
Corrective action. The Manager will address the contravention.
13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Contents of the emergency supplies were reviewed and it was found that there was not enough food and water for 72 hours in the event of an emergency.
Corrective action. The Manager will obtain more food and water.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Time in/time out was not recorded today for 4 children.
Corrective action. The Manager will address the contravention.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed fence panels have detached from some parts.
Corrective action. The Manager explained that she will fix this and provide Licensing with a photo once complete.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. Licensing found that a child with an indicated allergy on their registration form did not have a care plan developed in consultation with the parent or any person requested by the parent.
Corrective action. The Manager explained that a care plan will be developed after following up with the parents.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. Upon review of staff records, Licensing found that 1 educator's certificate was not verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.
Corrective action. The Manager explained that this staffs certificate was recently renewed and The Manager will validate it.
