A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

Observation. Managers name is not posted

Corrective action. Manager said she will post her name and contact information for families

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. 2 of 8 children's files are missing the name and phone number of a medical practitioner 1 of 8 children's files are missing the name and phone number of an emergency contact

Corrective action. Manager said she will review files to ensure they are complete

A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.

Observation. 1 of 8 children's files missing consent for medical.

Corrective action. Manager said she will review file and connect with families to ensure files are up to date.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. - 2 of 8 children's files were missing a medical insurance plan number - 3 of 8 children's files were missing immunization status

Corrective action. Manager said she will review all children's files and work with families to ensure they are complete and up to date

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. 1 of 8 children's files were missing a start date

Corrective action. Manager said she will review all files and ensure they are complete

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. immunization status was not obtained for 1 staff

Corrective action. Manager said she will connect with the staff and ensure all staff files are complete and up to date

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. The fire extinguisher has not been serviced since May 2024.

Corrective action. The Manager will service the fire extinguisher.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. During a review of children's files, it was found that three were missing care care numbers.

Corrective action. The Manager will obtain this information and include in the children's files.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Children's files were reviewed and three children did not have Doctor's information.

Corrective action. The Manager will obtain this information and document in the children's files.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (d) copies of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of the person's training and skills.

Observation. The Manager's first aid certificate expired in December 2024. The second staff person (ECE) has a current first aid certificate, however, she is not present from open to close.

Corrective action. The Manager will obtain a current first aid certification.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. Licensing reviewed the emergency kits, there were 6 out 8 kits for the children and some of the food was expired.

Corrective action. The licensee said they will ask parents for the kits and ensure that the food is replenished.

Observation. Licensing reviewd 6 children's files; 1 child did not have consent to call medical services in case of an emergency if parents cannot be reached.

Corrective action. The staff said they will speak with the parents and get them to fill the form out.

Corrective action. The licensee said they will ask the parents for information and ensure the children's files are complete.
