  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: a. Beds and Bedding were touching b. The fridge that holds children's lunches, does not have a thermometer

  Corrective action. Manager stated the following: a. The beds will be placed separately b. They will obtain a thermometer for the fridge

  A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (b) constructed in a manner, and using materials, that are suitable for the age and development of the children intended to use it.

  Observation. Licensing observed an outdoor climber that has a clear warning from the manufacturer "intended for the use of children 2 - 6 years of age" This is not appropriate for the age group in care

  Corrective action. Manager stated they will remove the climber

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed attendance record, there were only 3 of 7 children signed in for the day.

  Corrective action. Manager stated she will conncet with staff and ensure that children are signed in as they come into the faciity.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing found -gap in the fence located in the outdoor play area -items stored in several areas of the facility that are not secured, posing a fall hazard.

  Corrective action. The Manager explained that the gap in the fence will be fixed and the items will be removed and stored in a lower space.

• OR SUPERVISION

  Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing found that on a regular basis, for the first or last hour of operation, children do not have access to an Infant and Toddler Educator.

  Corrective action. The Manager explained that she was unaware that an Infant and Toddler Educator needs to be present at all times and will revisit staffing schedule.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (c) a record of the person's work history.

  Observation. During the routine inspection four staff files were reviewed and two staff files were missing a resume.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all staff files are completed.
