A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. -One bottle of bleach is used for the classroom and diaper changing area. Concerns with cross contamination were discussed -Diaper changing table is not sanitized after each use -A shelf over 4 feet tall was not anchored and was easy to move -Tissue was placed over a light fixture. This may cause a potential fire hazard. This was removed during the inspection -Two children have allergies. These were not posted in the facility -An electrical outlet cover was missing. This was corrected -Sharp scissors wee located at the children's level. These were removed during the inspection

Corrective action. The Manager said she will confirm the children's allergies with the parents. The Manager will correct the other items

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): -Diaper cream was located at the children's level. This was corrected during the inspection -Plastic bags were located at the children's level. This was corrected during the inspection

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The name of the manager was not posted in a prominent place. This was corrected during the inspection

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. Children's records were reviewed. Two dates of enrollment were not observed.

Immediately after a person who was the subject of a character reference is no longer employed by or ordinarily present at the community care facility, a licensee must return all character references to the person, or destroy the character references.

Observation. Staff records were observed. Two staff no longer working at the facility had character references on file.

Corrective action. The Manager said she will remove and dispose of these documents
