A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards.
Observation. During routine inspection licensing observed 11 drop down cribs in the infant room. Although the cribs are in good condition they are older than 10 years. This has been identified as a discussion point at the 2024 routine inspection.
Corrective action. Licensee will look into prices and purchasing new cribs.

Observation. Licensing observed that on a few dates in September the time of departure was missing for some of the attending children. This is a repeat contravention from 2023.
Corrective action. Manager spoke with the staff and the staff will pay attention to recording departure times if parents forget to sign their child out of the facility.

Observation. During the routine inspection licensing observed that the Active Play and Screen Time Policy was not available.
Corrective action. Please ensure that an Active Play and Screen Time Policy are available to staff and parents.

Observation. During the routine inspection licensing observed that a prepayment agreement was not available.
Corrective action. Please ensure that a prepayment agreement is made available and known setting out the terms and conditions on which a refund of all or any of the prepayment will be made, to the parents if they are prepaying any amount of said fees.

Observation. Licensing reviewed six children's records and noted 2 did not contain the medical practitioner name and phone number.
Corrective action. Ensure children's registration information is complete with all required documentation including medical practitioner and phone number. If the family does not have a doctor then the nearby clinic phone # can be included.

Observation. Licensing reviewed 6 children's records and noted 2 did not contain the date of enrolment at the facility.
Corrective action. Please ensure children's records contain all required information, including the date of enrolment.
19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one or more employees.
Corrective action. Ensure that staff screening and required documentation is complete before the employees start date.

Observation. Licensing reviewed 6 staff files and noted that three of ECE certificates had not be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator directory.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed the following: (Repeat contravention) -Baseboard throughout the facility were in need of some repair and maintenance. -The pony wall in the toddler room had chipping paint. -Chipping paint through out the facility. -A broken kitchen faucet in the three to five program. -A damaged cupboard door.
Corrective action. Ensure the facility is in good repair at all times.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon licensing's arrival, there were three children napping in the program identified as "Infant Room" while the room staff were physically in the program identified as "toddler room".
Corrective action. Ensure that supervision is maintained at all times by a staff.
