    Corrective action. Staff validated certificate while licensing was on site.

    Observation. During the routine inspection licensing observed a plater of fruit and some cookies on the table. Licensing asked if this is common practice. Manager said that the children are being offered snacks at the facility.

    Corrective action. Please provide a compliance plan as how the information regarding food and drink given to children is relayed to parents.

    Observation. During the routine inspection licensing observed that the policies and procedures intended to guide staff were not available on site. manager said that the Policies and Procedures have been taken to head office to be revised. The policies and procedures have not been returned to the facility yet.

    Observation. During the routine inspection it was observed that a few children who required extra support did not have a care plan on site. A conversation was had regarding the care plan and the Care Plan Bulletin was provided as a resource. Manager said that next week she will begin having conversations with the parents and work on creating care plans for all children who require a care plan.

    Corrective action. Please ensure all children who require extra support have a care plan on site.

    Observation. During the routine inspection the manager could not produce the attendance records for the children in care. The manager said that the facility has started using a new app for children records, including the attendance records and the manager was unable to show attendance for previous days.

    Observation. Last fire drill recorded on the log sheet was conducted in October 2022. The manager included that she has conducted the fire drills last two months and had not recorded.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the fire drills are practiced on monthly basis and the record is maintained.

    Observation. Of two staff files reviewed, one file had an expired Criminal record Check(CRC). Manager stated that all files are held at the head office. Manager called the head office to check that the CRC has been renewed. The CRC had not yet be renewed at the head office.

    Observation. An electrical cord was observed hanging on the wall in room 109 accessible to children that poses a chocking hazard. Large tables leaned up against the wall in the Multipurpose room were observed and pose a risk of falling.
