A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.

Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Screen time policy stated that PPT and slide shows will be showed during circle time. According to DOLSOP screen time is not offered to children under two years of age.

Corrective action. Licensee said that the Screen Time Policy will be revised and presented to parents and staff.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Licensing reviewed 6 children's files and one child's file was missing an MSP number.

Corrective action. Ensure all files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Licensing reviewed 6 children's files and two children's files were missing an emergency contact person.

Corrective action. Ensure all files are complete.

A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.

Observation. Licensing reviewed children's files and emergency care cards and noted that two students did not have consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness.

Corrective action. Licensee will collect signatures.

A licensee must keep (a) in the case of employees, all records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements] for the entire time that the subject of the records is an employee of the community care facility.

Observation. Staff file was missing. Staff works at a different location and the file was at the other location.

Corrective action. Licensee said that they will have the file at the location.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Licensing noticed the following: Garbage can to throw the paper towels after drying hands was not available Curtains in the nap room are at children's reach Fridge temperature thermometer is missing to record the fridge temperature Small chair was used as a step stool to help children wash hands

Corrective action. Licensee placed the garbage can in the bathroom. Licensee put the curtains up on the ledge and will cut them so that they do not hang low. Licensee will buy the thermometer for the fridge and get a new step stool for the bathroom.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. out of five files reviewed one child's file had date of enrollment missing

Corrective action. Licensee will fill in the enrollment date

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Out of five files reviewed two files were missing the doctors/clinic phone number

Corrective action. Licensee will collect the information form the parents and include in the file.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. A copy of CRC is missing in the staff file

Corrective action. Licensee will bring the copy from other facility and include it in the staff file.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

Observation. ECE IT certificate validation is missing in the staff file.

Corrective action. Licensee will validate the certificate and include it in the file
