Observation. There is no evidence that an Early Childhood Educator's certificate has been validated through the BC Early Childhood Educator Registry. To ensure staff hold a valid certificate, all certificates must be verified using the BC Early Childhood Educator Registry validation page. Submit written confirmation by May 28, 2026, that the required validation has been completed and added to the employee’s file.

Observation. Sharp knives are stored in a kitchen drawer that is readily accessible to children due to a broken child safety lock. Hazardous items must be securely stored at all times to prevent access by children and reduce the risk of injury. Submit written confirmation by May 28, 2026, that all hazardous items are no longer accessible to children.
- C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical
Observation. One employee’s criminal record check and immunization status are missing. All required employee documentation must be collected and maintained prior to an employee commencing work with children. Submit written confirmation by May 25, 2026, that the missing records have been obtained and added to the employee’s file. Three days per week, children do not have access to an employee who holds a valid first aid certificate. At all times, at least one employee with a valid first aid certificate must be available to ensure child safety. Submit written confirmation and supporting evidence by May 25, 2026, that a staff member with a valid first aid certificate is present while children are in care.

Observation. Required information, including the name and phone number of a medical practitioner, medical insurance number, and immunization status, is missing from some children’s records. Complete and up-to-date records for each child are required. Submit written confirmation by May 28, 2026, that the missing information has been obtained and added to the children’s records.

Observation. Children's attendance record for the day of inspection were missing the arrival times of the children. A system for indicating when a child is present is required.

Observation. The boat structure in the outdoor play space is not in good repair. It has some gaps that are greater than 3.5", and has some sharp edges on the broken wood.

Observation. Food and water in emergency kit require replenishing.

Observation. Criminal Record Check results for one employee expired in February, and results for the other employee expired in April. Valid CRC results are required for all employees. A plan for obtaining CRC results is required immediately.

Observation. Some children's files are missing their Personal Health Number. Some children's files are missing the name and phone number of a health care practitioner, or an indication that they don't have a medical practitioner.

Observation. Manger name needs to be posted.

Observation. There were several areas in the yard (under the entrance gate and covered deck) that had gaps that exceeded 3.5". There was some bird feces on the outdoor sink cover.

Observation. Written policies and procedures in place and available for staff to review. Emergency response plan practiced and recorded appropriately. Fire Drill was missed twice over 6 months

Observation. The Criminal Record Check needs to be reprocessed for the Licensee and the residents of the home that the facility operates from. One staff's file is missing references.

Observation. On one day of the three months reviewed the times out were missing for all the children. Licensee indicated that only the past 6 months of attendance records are kept. Consent to call an ambulance or medical practitioner is missing for all children. One service delivery delivery problem closure needs to be reported to licensing.
