  Observation. During this inspection, Licensing observed the following items: -nap beds are torn which cannot be effectively cleaned -some exposed damaged wood in the picnic tables outdoor

  Corrective action. Please ensure that furniture and equipment are clean and in good repair.

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. During this inspection, Licensing observed the following: -a tall shelf in the nap room is not secured -an unlocked bathroom cupboard contained cleaning materials accessible to children -a tool cabinet is unlocked which contained bleach, detergent, and other hazardous materials accessible to children -a big pair of scissors stored in a drawer accessible to children -prickly plants are present in the outdoor play spaces

  Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment at all times.

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. There were not enough emergency supplies to prepare for and respond to an emergency.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that there are enough emergency supplies for all children in care should an emergency arise.

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

  Observation. One child requiring additional support does not have a care plan.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a care plan is in place for children requiring extra support.

  Observation. The attendance records show some missing departure times.

  Observation. Upon review of several children's files, two were missing the MSP number.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that the children's records are complete.

  Observation. Upon review of staff records, one is missing a criminal record check.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that criminal record check is obtained for all staff.

  A licensee must have one toilet and wash basin for every 10 children or fewer.

  Observation. The program is approved for the capacity of 12 children. One toilet has been broken for some time and yet to be fixed.

  Corrective action. Ensure two toilets are in working order at all times.

  A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

  Observation. The Outdoor play area has a slide structure that does not have enough resilient surfacing at the base to protect children using the equipment. Several prickles bushes also accessible to the children outdoors poses a risk.

  Corrective action. Ensure the outdoor play area material and equipment are in good repair.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. All registrations forms missing medical practitioner and two children missing emergency contact information.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's registration information includes Dr's name and contact detail and emergency contact information.

  Observation. Attendance records were reviewed. Several missing days and records that were available were inaccurate.

  Corrective action. Ensure daily attendance records include child's name, arrival and departure time and absence.

  Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one employee.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete including immunization status.

  A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards.

  Observation. Two tables in the facility where the children eat display signs of wear and tear making the surfaces difficult to effectively clean.

  Corrective action. Ensure all furniture is easy to clean and free from hazards.

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

  Observation. One qualified staff working in the program on the day of the inspection did not have their certificate posted within the facility.

  Corrective action. Ensure all qualified staff have their ECE certificates posted in a prominent place within the facility.

  Observation. Two staff files were reviewed and the immunization status was not obtained one employee working on the day of the inspection.

  Corrective action. Ensure are staff files are complete including immunization status.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the entire outdoor play area is (a) enclosed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and will ensure that children are free of harm.

  Observation. Two fence panels in the back yard are damaged and pose a risk to the children playing in the area. A rake was also accessible at the time of the inspection in an area where children play additionally posing a risk to the children. The LO reviewed these items with both the staff and Manager on the day of the inspection.

  Corrective action. Ensure the entire outdoor play area is enclosed and that the children are free from harm.

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

  A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): One child's food items were observed to be stored improperly posing a risk to the child. The LO reviewed this item with the staff during the inspection who corrected it right away.

  Corrective action. Ensure the program establishes a healthy and hygienic service with regards to food service.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The attendance records were reviewed during the inspection and were found to be incorrect. LO reviewed this item with the staff at the time of the inspection which is was then corrected.

  Corrective action. Ensure accurate attendance is maintained at all times.
