A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Metal poles, long loose ropes, and a few pieces of litter were scattered in the outdoor space.

Corrective action. The licensee will clean up the outdoor space.

A licensee must display a copy of the fire drill system in a prominent place in the community care facility.

Observation. The fire drill system is not displayed within the facility.

Corrective action. The licensee will display the fire drill system.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. One child's recod is missing the immunization status.

Corrective action. The licensee will acquire this information and keep this record.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. One child's record is missing the date of enrollment.

Corrective action. The licensee will acquire this information and keep this record.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

Observation. One child is missing a photograph in his records.

Corrective action. The licensee will acquire a photo of the child.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (d) copies of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of the person's training and skills.

Observation. A copy the ECE certificate was not available for review.

Corrective action. The licensee said the certificate has already been renewed and they will locate it.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. One staff member does not have a criminal record check.

Corrective action. The licensee will apply for the criminal record check.
