    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following were observed during this inspection that may pose as a hazard for children: -loose cords (some corrected during inspection) -a cleaning product in the bathroom cupboard under the sink and a diaper cream on the counter top accesible to children (corrected during inspection) -torn nap beds that cannot be effectively cleaned and sanitized -outdoor play area: sharp wooden debris, no resilient surfacing for the slide

    Corrective action. The Manager said they will be cleaning and organizing the outdoor play area soon.

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

    Observation. It was observed during this inspection that some of the children's departure times were not properly recorded.

    Corrective action. Please ensure to record accurate daily attendance records at all times.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following items were observed assessable to the children indoors and outdoors at the time of the inspection; - gardening tools - equipment with dirt and debris outdoors - garbage inappropriately stored outdoors - soiled towels in the outdoor play area - plugs within reach of children indoors (nap room and play room) - kitchen cooking equipment warm to the touch at the time of the inspection - kitchen cooking equipment and supplies within reach of the children - cleaning supplies and equipment within reach of the children - personal items in the nap room accessible - chairs in the eating area worn with restricts effective cleaning of the surfaces - location of highchair and children's eating table not suitable at the time of the inspection The LO reviewed these items in depth with the manager at the time of the inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

    A licensee must (a) ensure that each child has healthy food and drink according to the Canada's Food Guide.

    Observation. Menu provided to the parents regarding the food provided at the facility was observed to be inaccurate and limited with regards to healthy food provided. The LO reviewed these items in depth with the manager at the time of the inspection.

    Corrective action. Ensure children being provided food and drink is healthy according to Canada's Food Guide and accurate with what is reported to the parents.

    Observation. Eight children's files were reviewed and two children did not have evidence of medical insurance plan number available.

    Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including medical insurance plan numbers.

    Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including medical practitioner and emergency contacts available.
