    Observation. There is expired medication in the facilities emergency back pack. Expired medication undermines both safety and emergency preparedness. The contravention was cleared during inspection.

    Observation. It was observed the facilities fire extinguisher is past due for inspection. Emergency equipment that is not maintained poses a risk to the safety of children. Submit to licensing a plan that outlines the system that will be implemented to ensure emergency equipment is maintained.

    Observation. During the inspection the licensing officer reviewed staff and volunteer files. One volunteer who was present during the inspection did not have evidence of character references or evidence the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. Volunteers who are not thoroughly screened may pose risk to children. Submit to licensing the plan that will be implemented that outlines the system that will be implemented to ensure the required volunteer records are collected prior to having the person present with the children.
