  Observation. One staff file is missing evidence the person has complied with the province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs, and resume. Incomplete staff files reduce transparency and weaken oversight which can put children at risk. Submit to licensing by May 8, 2026, evidence the missing items are in the staff files.

  Observation. One child file is missing the name and phone number of a medical practitioner. Incomplete child records pose a risk to children in emergencies. Submit to licensing by May 8, 2026, evidence the information has been collected and is in the child's file.

• C9.1 - Are there plans and actions in place to ensure medications are stored and administered properly?Non-critical

  Observation. There is expired medication in the facilities emergency back pack. Expired medication undermines both safety and emergency preparedness. The contravention was cleared during inspection.

• C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

  Observation. It was observed the facilities fire extinguisher is past due for inspection. Emergency equipment that is not maintained poses a risk to the safety of children. Submit to licensing a plan that outlines the system that will be implemented to ensure emergency equipment is maintained.

  Observation. During the inspection the licensing officer reviewed staff and volunteer files. One volunteer who was present during the inspection did not have evidence of character references or evidence the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. Volunteers who are not thoroughly screened may pose risk to children. Submit to licensing the plan that will be implemented that outlines the system that will be implemented to ensure the required volunteer records are collected prior to having the person present with the children.

  Observation. Play space inspections not conducted daily.

  Observation. A tin roof shelter located in the outdoor play space has collapsed resulting in hazardous debris being accessible to children.

• C1.2 - Does the licensee operate the facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety and dignity of persons in care?Non-critical

  Observation. Radon results have not been submitted.

• Has the facility been tested for radon gas?Non-critical

  Observation. It is unknown if the levels of radon gas are currently being tested or if a device has been ordered. Plan for a long term test between November 2021 through March 2022. Please submit a copy of the laboratory result to Licensing Direct so that the result number can be added to the facility record.
