• C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?Critical

  Observation. - The Licensing Officer observed 8 children in care with 1 responsible adult staff person. During the inspection, the Licensing Officer observed more than one child exhibit challenging behaviours and who both ran out of the gym and into the school hallways. One child was observed to be just outside one of the exterior doors. The staff person responded to each child who left the gym appropriately, however, the remaining children were left in the gym without continuous supervision for periods of time.

• Has the facility been tested for radon gas?Non-critical

  Observation. As stated on the initial inspection report dated August 26, 2022, the Licensee has submitted a plan to conduct a long term test for radon gas during the coldest months of the year between November 2022 through March 2023. As of this inspection, the Licensee has not provided confirmation that the radon test has been completed. Please provide Licensing with an update regarding the deployment and/or completion of this test.

• C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

  Observation. - Ensure that the record of monthly fire drills is displayed in the facility. *Resolved during the inspection. - As per the Licensee's emergency plan, ensure that adequate supplies including non-expired non-perishable food and activities for the children are included in the evacuation kit. Ensure first aid kits contain items that are not expired.

• C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

  Observation. - Some child records were missing doctor/clinic contact information. - When a care plan is in place for a child who meets the definition of "child requiring extra support", it is required that the plan is reviewed at least once a year from the date it was originally created. Evidence that a review had been completed and to ensure that the care plan is current was needed. Other record keeping systems in place such as the minor incident log, attendance records, and the play space inspection log were reviewed by the Licensing Officer and they appeared satisfactory.
