    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. *A wooden table in the outdoor play yard has become water damaged and evidence of black mould can be seen throughout the porous table top.

    Observation. *A television is in use in this facility however there is not a screen time policy in place which is required. (CCFL to send a resource)

    Observation. *At the time of inspection CCFL was informed that 5 children had gone over to a neighbouring childcare for Halloween festivities however this was not reflected on the sign in/out form. *A child's registration package was missing immunization information.

    Observation. *The manager listed on the current licence is no longer in that role however a new manager has not yet been appointed.

    Observation. *An asthma care plan was missing the expiry date and location of the medication. *A seizure care plan lists medication as part of the treatment plan however the medication is only administered at home which makes the action for this care plan unclear.

    A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

    Observation. *Licensing observed a cord from a CD player that was unsecured and accessible. This poses the risk of entanglement. *Licensing observed disinfectant spray bottles on the counter and cleaning products in an unlocked lower kitchen cupboard that were accessible to children. *Outdoor toys and equipment were observed to be stored inside the facility, reducing the useable play space.
