The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. LO noted the following: -An old wooden trellis located near the sandbox and accessible to children had protruding nails and sharp edges that could scratch, puncture, or otherwise injure a child. -The space between the old building and the storage area must be made inaccessible to children to support direct supervision and reduce the risk of injury. The wood baseboards on the building wall were in poor condition, and the ground surface was uneven. Staff had temporarily placed a small plastic table in the area to block children’s access. -Broken wooden panels on the exterior playground building had sharp and jagged edges that could cause cuts and scrapes. The damaged areas were at a low level and accessible to children. -The toilet seats in the children’s bathroom were in poor condition. The surfaces were scratched and could not be properly cleaned and sanitized. The scratched areas appeared darkened due to wear.

Licensing Officer observed the following: - Damaged areas on outdoor garage walls, flaky paint accessible to children in multiple locations - As the wood and paint chip away over time, a nail has lifted and become exposed to children on the garage wall - Some garden tools and loose water hoses were accessible to children. The manager has removed/stored away during a routine inspection - Two portable industrial blowers with loose cords were observed in the children's cubbies area. The manager confirms these will be remove soon.

The damage to the walls prevented them from being appropriately cleaned. - the linoleum flooring in the small play room was torn.
