    Observation. Licensing observed the following in the outdoor play area: - The wooden play structure has deteriorating wood at the base of the structure. - Loose and missing climbing holds observed on the play structure wooden climbing wall, creating a potential fall hazard. - A deteriorating wooden log along the children’s pathway that children walk and balance on.

Licensing observed the following: * a wooden play structure in the outdoor play area has deteriorating wood on the climbing section. * a deteriorating wooden log along children's pathway with crumbling wood and an exposed screw. * loose climbing holds on wooden play structure which could detach, creating a potential fall hazard. * metal mesh with a jagged edge detaching from the building siding, posing a potential risk of injury.

    Observation. Licensing reviewed the emergency preparedness supplies and did not observe any food or water. A discussion occurred with the Manager, who indicated that the facility had recently discarded the expired food and water, and that new supplies are currently on order.

    All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

    Observation. As noted in a prior inspection, areas of the outdoor play space have wood that is rotting and needing replacement. Work to replace some of the aging wood features will be underway soon. During demolition and construction, the playground will be inaccessible to the children (for approximately 3 weeks). The Manager of the facility will develop a plan for use of a nearby park for outdoor play.
