  Observation. Licensing observed an expired medication.

  All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

  Observation. Two of the items listed remain in non-compliance: Black benches require repair/painting, White Planter Box requires repair/painting.

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE CONTROL / Health and HygieneNon-critical

  There is an established program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene. [CCLR Sec. 46(1)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that one of the staff did not wash their hands prior to serving the children a "special" snack of dirt and worms. The children also did not wash their hands prior to eating the "special" snack.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that one of the rooms appeared cold, when Licensing inquired about this they were told that the furnace that heats the room did not work. Licensing expressed the concern that when the temperature becomes colder outside, the room temperature also will be colder and this could affect both the children and Educators.

  Observation. Observation: Licensing observed the following: Inside... * The paint on the black benches was pealing * The bathroom stools appeared dirty Outside... * The paint on the white planter box was pealing

  Observation. Licensing observed in the outdoor play area two wooden planters that had nails sticking out and some of the wood was beginning to rot. The Manager stated that they would remove the wooden planters.
