    The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

    Observation. In the eating area, Licensing Officer observed that the seat of a green chair was cracked and broken. This condition poses a risk of harm to children in care, and the chair is not maintained in good repair.

    Observation. Licensing Officer observed the following: -The adhesive on the safety latch for the storage room door, which contains the hot water tank and cleaning equipment, was not secured properly, making the area accessible to children. -Cupboards in the kitchen area were not properly latched, resulting in the contents being accessible to children.

    Observation. During the inspection, staff indicated that the manager named on the facility licence has not been present or actively working at the facility for over one year.

    Observation. Licensing was informed that the centre phone was broken and the licensee was to replace or repair.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - The educator was not aware of the correct ratio of bleach and water for cleaning and sanitizing document with the correct measurement of bleach to water ratio has not been provided. - sanitizing solution was not available to use after each diaper change. - An Educator still had the glove on after changing a child's diaper, which is presents an opportunity of spreading of germs. - Chairs and personal items are stored around a crib, which is easily assessible to children - It was reported that a child was sleeping on the carpet in the main area as they transition into the facility, licensing is concerned of cross contamination causing a possible health risk. - Children's cribs are next to each other with no space in between. Licensing is concerned this has the potential of the spread of germs and illness.

    Observation. - The wood used for shelving is porous and difficult to maintain and clean. - One of the shelves with the back facing toward the group is rough and can cause splinters.

Licensing observed the following: - that a gate used to access the side of the home, educators are not be able to latch closed, which presents a risk of missing and wandering. -The gate which is used to enclose the window well has become warped on the top of the gate from moisture causing a potential injury

    Observation. Licensing was informed that the Manager had been away for more than 30 days. Licensing was not made aware of the Manager's absence.
