    Observation. While an outdoor maintenance of equipment log is kept, Licensing Officer observed that it had not been completed for the day at the time of inspection. Staff advised that the log is typically completed while children are resting, as the children had gone to the park earlier that morning.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the educators have a challenge logistically when conducting the VCH 4step procedure to clean and sanitize. Licensing discussed possible steps with the educators to put in place in order to be effective as well as to assist in reducing their steps when cleaning and sanitizing.

    Observation. Originally found out of compliance on March 24, 2025. Licensing observed that the licensee has created a new system that indicates the play space has been inspected daily. It was observed that educators check off that it has been inspected, but there is no area for comments regarding if something needs to be addressed.

    Observation. 1 child had a medication administration form posted for a puffer used for Asthma. No Asthma Care Plan was completed and posted.

    Observation. Staff report that use Brightwheel app to let parent know how well the child ate but not provide what food was served. The CCLR requires that parents should be informed about the food and drink given to the children.

    Observation. The staff do not practice VCH 4 step procedures when washing dishes. Staff are using the bleach and hot water sanitize step. This contravention was noted at the last Routine inspection. The bi-fold door in the nap room has a crib pushed up against it and is not locked to prevent finger/hand injury. Bleach and Water spray bottle must be labelled, made up fresh every morning and kept secured away from children's access. Staff should make a small amount each day. Spray paint bottle in unlocked mirror cupboard in bathroom where children who are washing hands can access.

    Daily inspections of the play space for garbage, broken glass, animal feces and other hazardous items have not been done. ; Monthly detailed inspections of the play space have not been conducted, including a check of the landscaping and fencing and overall condition of equipment to ensure that they do not pose any hazards to children. ; Check lists that help to ensure checks and inspections are performed regularly and that proper maintenace and repair are completed are not available for staff.

    Observation. The staff provided a check list with dates and signatures of staff that was for the outdoor play space inspections. The check list did not contain information about what is being checked

    Observation. There is a separate nap area with cribs and mats. The mats are stacked in a crib with sheets / blankets touching. LO discussed with the licensee the importance of ensuring that the bedding is clean between uses. Some options discussed were to put the sheets / blankets in individual bags, or keep the mats out with space between them and the cribs.

    Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

    Observation. Noted at inspection on Feb. 23, 2021 - LO observed a long cord for a fan in the nap room was exposed and accessible to children. The licensee submitted a response that stated that the cord has been secured to the wall. At todays inspection it was also observed that the fan, air purifier and cd player all had cords that were within reach of children on mats. These cords could be a hazard to children and must be inaccessible.
